You Bet There Was No Insider Trading Plot...
Nearly nine years, two recessions and thousands of conspiracy theories later, the U.S. government has made it official: Initial speculation after the 9/11 terrorist attacks that plotters made financial bets against airlines or other companies hurt by the events was unfounded.

"the US government has made it official" - Exactly. Did you not see that scene in JFK where Donald Sutherland descends from the skies to explain the stinking cancer that is the military industrial complex?

And of course, Claud Cockburn's adage was, "Never believe anything until it is officialy denied."
Then again Cockburn worked for the Soviet Union in George Orwell's opinion so it's difficult to know who to believe.
